Reverse Osmosis Feed Water System
Plant Condition Assessment Project

Review of the existing facility’s mechanical drawings, submittal data from the RO system manufacturer, and operating conditions for the RO system, in order to design the field fabrication of a replacement piping system for the damaged RO feed water system.  Particular attention was given to the high levels of vibration imposed on the system piping by the operation of the feedwater pumps under normal, start-up, and emergency conditions.  The design included the addition of a safety shutdown system to prevent excessive internal hydraulic pressure on the plastic piping system.
